Bloody Hell, Formula 1

I've been having 'the best year of my life' for the last couple of years, more specifically since 2016 I suppose, and there is no sign of this momentum being lost whatsoever this year despite the COVID-19 pandemic, as I've enjoyed an immence amount of happiness as a motor racing enthusiast so far in 2020.

One of the most pectacular races in the modern era of Formula 1 happened in Monza, where Pierre Gasly took his maiden victory in Formula 1 after a hardly believable series of events.

That day was certainly one of the best days of my life, if not the best, as someone who's been a Toro Rosso/AlphaTauri fan since 2016.

Without going into too much detail, I have to mention the very first race of the season where Lando Norris, my favorite driver on the current grid, scored his first podium in Formula 1.

I've got a blog post already about the first 2 weeks of 2020 Formula 1 season, so all I have to say about #LastLapLando is there if you're interested.

That stunning start to the season was then followed by the double header at Silverstone, the first of which saw 2 Mercedes suffering tyre failures and nearly giving up Hamilton's race win, and the second was conquered by Verstappen, who ended the winning streak of Mercedes which seemed impossible at that stage of the season.

Then we had the Italian Grand Prix.

I had to unsubscribe from DAZN on the day before the race, so I went back to following all the action on F1.com live blog, which was a huge shame because... what a cracking race that was!

I mean, I wouldn't say that was the best race in Formula 1 history in terms of its contents, because honestly things were a bit clumsy, which of course caused all the chaos and led to this amazing result that I'm thankful for, including the second podium appearance for Carlos Sainz and Lance Stroll.

Following 2 races afterwards came the Eifel/Portuguese/Emilia Romagna Grands Prix, which saw Lewis Hamilton equaling and breaking Michael Schumacher's record of 92 race wins in Formula 1 and Daniel Ricciardo scoring his first 2 podiums with Renault.

Who else enjoyed the shoey performance by Danny Ric and King Hamilton?

I did!

For some people this may sound weird, but I've become a fan of Lance Stroll since his P4 finish at the Hungarian Grand Prix, as his radio message after the race sounded so genuinely happy and put a smile on my face, so the qualifying for the Turkish Grand Prix was one of the best sessions of this year.

How the race went for him is a real shame, but it didn't ruin my day at all, as I witnessed a great exhibition of Hamilton's ability.

It seemd to be a matter of time, but seeing Hamilton actually becoming a 7-time world champion by winning the Turkish Grand Prix in that spectacular fashion truly made me feel honored to be witnessing his greatness.

The treacherous condition at Istanbul Park provided a real test of drivers' abilities, and Hamilton once again, but in the most convincing way in my opinion, proved he is not a 7-time champion for nothing.

Some say "he's winning because he has the best car," but what about Bottas?

If all the work is done by the performance of the car, why is Bottas not winning as many races as Hamilton?

Tonight we will have the Bahrain Grand Prix, the first of the final 3 races to conclude this extraordinary season of Formula 1.

The fight for the championships might be over, but Racing Point and McLaren are still very much in contention for the 3rd place in the constructors' standing, and Renault should wish to get theselves back in this fight instead of having to worry about Ferrari, who is only 6 points behind them now.

There are lots of other things to watch for, as Daniil Kvyat seeks to impress teams that might pick him in the future, Alex Albon tries to prove he deserves his seat at Red Bull, and George Russell must be keen to have another chance of scoring points and this time make it work.

Personally, I'd wish for another cheeky podium for Lando and either of AlphaTauri boys!
